There are two forms of membership at Glen Abbey United Church:
When you check the box on the WELCOME slip indicating you wish to be an Associate Member, we put you / your family on our congregational Household list. You will go on our mailing list so that we can keep you informed about socials, events, etc. We will understand that you now regard us as your home church. You are invited to take part in any and all programs and activities of the congregation. You are welcome to serve on committees and the Official Board of the congregation. You are invited to contribute time, talent, and treasure to support the congregations mission. You are invited to vote at meetings which involve the future directions of our mission. You are invited to seek to be faithful followers of Jesus Christ. That makes us very glad indeed!
You are invited to become a member of Glen Abbey United Church. - The Welcoming Church.
Transfer
As a member of another United Church you would indicate your former church on the MEMBERSHIP REQUEST slip (on the cover of the bulletin) and complete the details.
Re-Affirmation
As a member of another church other than the United Church of Canada you would indicate your former church on the MEMBERSHIP REQUEST slip (on the cover of the bulletin) and complete the details.
Adult Confirmation
If you have never been a member of the United Church or any other church, then you would become a member by Confirmation. The Adult Confirmation process involves attending the WELCOMING GROUP (3 Sessions- introduces you to the United Church of Canada) and the PRE-CONFIRMATION GROUP (3 sessions - introduces you to basic Christian Faith - these sessions generally follow the WELCOMING GROUP sessions) for a total of 6 sessions. If you would like to be Confirmed as an adult indicate this on the MEMBERSHIP REQUEST slip (on the cover of the bulletin) and complete the details.
Of course, you can always send us email instead!
